Controller Type

AR-721H / AR-101H / AR-321H / AR-331H/H-S / AR-723H / AR-757H / AR-725H / AR-725H-M

1.Factory Reset by entering Command for controller with Keypad

2.ALL CLEAN by entering 20 00 00 04 00 00 00 00 on COMMVIEW

This command is from Soyal Communication Protocol, commonly used for user who wants to make sure all parameter and memory inside the controller are clean enough. Usually after updating firmware, entering this command is suggested.

Step 1. Deciding command protocol to send

20                        : command to write EEPROM (form 20H Write EEPROM)

00 00                  : memory address

04                        : write 4 bytes length data

00 00 00 00       : reset all parameter

Step 2. Select target node (node ID)

Default node ID is 1, to quickly change your node ID after entering programming mode enter 00*NNN# (NNN range 001~254), then exit programming mode

Step 3. Select communication port

-If you are using AR-321CM converter (RS485 to USB converter) you might select COM option, which one is the COM PORT, click right on windows icon > device manager > Port

-If you are using AR-727CM (RS485 to Ethernet converter) or AR-MDL-RJ45 you might select TCP/IP and enter your IP address. But COMMVIEW is not supported with TCP/IP. Therefore you might want to make virtual COM PORT with your IP address using VSCOM.

Download VSCOM as part of SoyalToolSetup

  • Step 1. Insert IP address
  • Step 2. Select Port [1621]. If you are connecting to multi-door controller, PORT for CH1 is [1621] CH2 is [1623]
  • Step 3. Enter COM PORT you desired
  • Step 4. Select [Add]

  • Step 5. Your IP address will be converted into virtual COM PORT

Step 4. Enter command 20 00 00 04 00 00 00 00

Step 5. Click [Send], controller will beep 6 times and flash red LED in the end of it means the controller is successfully cleaned up.

MASTER CODE

If you don’t want to factory reset or clean the memory, but forget what your current master code, you might want to either directly reset the master code, know what your current master code is, or directly change the master code.

3.Reset Master Code into Initial Master Code (*123456#)

Step 1. Select the first option for H series controller

Step 2. Select target node (node ID), default node ID is 1.

              if you do not know your current node ID, enter ‘255’.

             

             Even though the message box shows ‘Initial Failed’ you can still enter programming mode by enter default master code *123456#

Step 3. Select communication port

             -If you are using AR-321CM converter (RS485 to USB converter) you might select COM option, which one is the COM PORT, click right on windows                     icon > device manager > Port

             -If you are using AR-727CM (RS485 to Ethernet converter) or AR-MDL-RJ45 you might select TCP/IP and enter your IP address.

Step 4. Click [Reset Master Code]

Step 5. Once the Master Code is done resetting, the message box will shows “Completed!”

             This means you can enter programming mode by entering *123456#

Read or Write Master Code through protocol

refer to 721_727H Protocol_EN Protocol Document about 12H Read EEPROM /20H Write EEPROM/ Memory Layout. Learn Protocol Format and Know Master code storage location in EEPROM that is stored at start location 00 0E with 4 bytes length, then open “COMMVIEW” to read or write master code

4.Read Current Master Code

Step1.  Deciding command protocol to send

To read master code, you can refer to “12H Read EEPROM”

The command that we will write on the COMMVIEW is 12 00 0E 04

12                        : command to read EEPROM (form 12H Read EEPROM)

0000E                 : start memory location for master code

04                        : need to send 4 bythe length because master code length is 4 byte (refer to the Memory Layout table mentioned above)

Step 2. Select target node (node ID)

Step 3. Select COM PORT

Step 4. Enter 12 00 0E 04

Step 5. Click [Send]

Step 6. The Reply you will received contains HEX master code, once you convert it into DEC number, you will get your current master code.

5.Write New Master Code

Step1.  Deciding command protocol to send

To write master code, you can refer to “20H Read EEPROM”

The command that we will write on the COMMVIEW is 20 00 0E 04 00 01 E2 40

20                        : command to write EEPROM (form 20H Write EEPROM)

00 00 0E            : start memory location for master code

04                        : need to write 4 bythe length because master code length is 4 byte (refer to the Memory Layout table mentioned above)

00 01 E2 40       : enter desired master code in HEX (in this example, enter HEX for master code 123456)

Step 2. Select target node (node ID)

Step 3. Select COM PORT

Step 4. Enter 20 00 0E 04 00 01 E2 40

Step 5. Click [Send]
