With IP network being basic infrastructure in office and commercial facalities , using POE for trasmiting both data and electric power to for access control system is eager needed now .

SOYAL launch POE Module that can been directly pluged into SOYAL IP Based controllers to meet the needs in market.

Howver, only the IP Based Controllers with new PCB layout design that are gradually manufactured after 2020 Q3 will be compatible with the new POE Module.

How to order IP Based Controller with POE features?

IP based controller included AR-725E / 331E / 327E / 727E / 837E / 837EF

If the controller needs to support a PoE module, please verify the following three items: 

1. The new Enterprise Series (E) controllers support PoE functionality, can be identified by the following manufacturing information:

          AR-327-E: KHR05~
          AR-331-E: KHR05~
          AR-725-E: KHR02~
          AR-727-E: EHR02~
          AR-837-E: KHR03

2. PoE Network Module
   The network module inside the controller must be AR-MDL-NETWORK-POE (white module board).

3. External PoE Module

External PoE Module Configuration Notes:

1. When using PoE to power electric locks, the higher current may generate heat. Install the module close to the controller (card reader) in an external enclosure with good ventilation for proper heat dissipation.
2. If the PoE for the card reader is only used for attendance and does not supply power to an electric lock, it is recommended to use or switch to AR-837-EE, which has enough space to house the PoE module inside the case. For other models, external installation is required.
3. The PoE module’s online power function requires a PoE-enabled switch or hub.
